Government and Law Enforcement

Post by Inanna on Thu Apr 27, 2017 1:22 pm

Mayors only. No councils or counties. You can build alliances as you see fit.

Law enforcement is an extension of the bounty hunting system where you are only given basic information regarding who committed the crime.

Fuck yeah there is a revolt button!

And yes, should be some sort of voting but we don't want lots of bureaucracy. Just not sure how much we'll be able to put in the first version of the game. But it will all come eventually. Smile

So feudalism?

If that is the case, Mayors are not the best idea, perhaps a sheriff instead?  And if you are looking to create that sort of dynamic, then no 'elections' but a system of gaining favour to gain power on one hand as well as a system to gain power through right of conquest.

I can imagine a good dynamic of alliances forming.  The biggest balancing trick will be to not make any one side too overpowered.  Otherwise you will end up with the warrior types getting bored or the political types getting frustrated.

elections are an anachronism. let people use personal power and alliances to gain power. and don't give divine powers to the courts... i hate that Evil or Very Mad

What no magic arrest button and thieves handing out their ID card to everyone?  What will I do with all of my customer satisfaction forms?
