Apothecary vs Alchemy
Which would you prefer? Or both? What would you like to see each produce? Apothecary is easy but what items would an alchemist make that would be useful or fun?
Re: Apothecary vs Alchemy
As I said, Alchemy is more chemistry than medicine, so an alchemist would be someone who made gunpowder for example. They would also be trying to turn lead into gold and failing, but in that failure producing useful amalgams like pewter and the mercury fillings for teeth.
Apothecary would be more about using herbs to create unguents, salves, poultices and teas.
As for surgery, well, the local butcher was often called upon to do that.

If i had to pick one for the long term probably Apothecary though i do still like the idea of non-magical Alchemy.

We can do both easily enough, just need to ensure there is a practical use for them in the game, that they mean something.

I just thought...being a herbalist and naturopath
If you let me know what treatments you want, or what ailments you want something for or even just what herbs you want to make things out of.....I can make up some simple recipes......never know the game may even end up being educational lol
